Sad News from Tate

Dear Friends and family,

I have been unfortunately indefinitely detained in this luxury hotel. The doctors came in today and found new pox so said I must stay until they have all crusted over. They said they did not know how many more days that might be. It is sad not being able to see everyone, but I know that God is in control.

Thanks for all your comments on the Blog, I check regularly for new ones and reread the old ones!

These are some verses and songs that have encouraged me:

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understandings.

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage. Do not be afraid or dismayed for I will be with you where ever you may go. (even the hospital)

Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Ephesians 6:10-11 Be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you may stand against the Devils schemes.

"On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand."

Hope to see you all soon,

Tate

Hi sweet boy, Daddy told me that he is having so much fun with you that he wants to spend another day with you and I can't come until tomorrow. I miss my "hot box" and am always cold. Paulie is trying to replace you but is just a little to wiggly to do the job well. I want to remind you that today is the last day Daddy will be 47...so treat him well and let him win in Chess today! I love you and am glad you are looking to God's Living Word for your strength. He is working and continuing to grow us all up in Him. I love you and am very proud of you. I'll call you later today. Love, Mother

Hi again Tate! So sorry to hear that you're stuck in the hospital for a bit longer, we know from experience that the hospital is a boring place.
We will keep praying for you through this tough time, and hopefully there will be good news from you soon! Your trust in God and positive spirit are a blessing to us all, it is so encouraging to read your posts and see how you are resting in God's will and His love and care for you.
"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

Take care!

Dear Tate,
Let me tell you that you are in the best place to have chicken pox, since you can't give it to anyone else! I was 19 when I got them and because I was a poor college student, I CONTINUED TO WORK IN A DELI until my spots were discovered. I also GOT MY HAIRCUT from a beautiful young woman WHO HAD NEVER HAD CHICKEN POX (I asked her in casual conversation). Yes, you are definitely in the right place...
We love you and are praying for your recovery daily.

Tate,
Thanks for being an example and and encouragement to all of us! You have allowed God to do some wonderful things in your life and character through the suffering you have gone though. I love the verses you included in today's post -- isn't God's word amazing?

I'm enjoying your sense of humor as well -- I thought Mae had written the profile for herself! It's much funnier knowing you wrote it!

XOXO

Hi Tate,
All of the Danfords have been praying for you. We are all remembering when we had the chicken pox...Katherine got them when she was 4 months old so she doesn't remember them and is lucky! She is praying for you up in Washington.
Mr. Danford and I went to school and met right at the hospital where you are, and so we have some great memories from there.
Elizabeth says "Get well soon!"
Hang in there!!

Tate,

Hey there - we are bummed to hear that you are having to stay, but so encouraged by your faith and trust in Christ and his word. One of the verses you listed is my favorite verse, Joshua 1:9. When I got married and moved to California all the way from Missouri, leaving everything I knew (family, friends, etc.) That verse became real to me - He is with us wherever we go and he is still in control no matter where we are. You are an encouragement to myself and many others! Hang in there and continue to lean on scripture. I am glad you are getting to have some great time with your dad and I have to tell you that your sense of humor cracks me up - the profile made me laugh - so it was fun to read that you wrote it :) We are continuing to pray for you and love to read your updates! We miss you and hope you are back soon - I am praying God encourages your heart and that the pox are gone and dried up soon!

Stephanie Writebol - oh - if you go to my blog writebol.blogspot.com you can see some cute pictures of Allison on her first Christmas :)

Dear Tate,

I and my Bible study group have been praying for you many months. We are all saddened that you have this added complication of chicken pox. You are such a loving young man. I see Jesus in you every time I see you. You are filled with God's love and we know that God is love. Your Scriptures that you posted were encouraging. Many years ago I claimed Phil. 4:13 as my life verse. I have experienced His strength in so many trials and tribulations.
I am not sure this comment will come through as this is the first time I have ever posted a comment on a blogsight. Yesterday I did a text message to my 8 year old granddaughter Paige for the first time. It took me three tries but I finally got my reply message sent to her! I send blessings to you and your family for a healthy and happy year.
In His love, Mrs. (Camel)

Hi Tate,
Is one of the games you play there in the hospital with chicken pox dot to dot? Har,har...Hey dude, you are being refined with fire, but the result is pure gold! Just hold tight to the One God and Savior who will get you through this trial. I hope you remember how Paul in the Bible suffered greatly (2 Cor. 6:3-10) but in the end he was able to say "having nothing and yet possessing everything." You may have less than favorable conditions (no visitors) but owning God is all that you could ever need! Take joy and be comforted that God is with you! We are giving thanks for your good progress (glorious scabs!) and counting on God (not dots!) to bring you home soon!

Love from Sebastopol, C,D,J,K
