Dear Friends and Family,
We just received news from the hospital again this evening.
The doctors just told my Mom, that they think Tate will need to stay in the hospital in San Francisco at least for a few weeks. His ilium is so inflamed, and he has some intestinal blockage, but they don't know exactly what it is. They've decided to put him on intravenous feeding in order to give his intestines a break from food for a while.
They are still not sure if he is contagious yet, so no visitors are allowed at this time.
However, if he does end up staying there for a few weeks, I know he would love people to come visit and spend time with him. In the mean time, be praying that he would be encouraged through God's word and that emotionally he would stay strong.
"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28
Thank you for your prayers,
Mae & The Bartholow Family

Mae, You are an amazing sister. Thank you for updating Tate's blog so we can pray specifically for his needs. It sounds as if Tate has a great perspective and is trusting God to take care of all the details.
We just love him so much and our hearts are so heavy for the pain that he is going through.
Would it be possible to send him a card to your house or to the hospital? Also, would it be helpful to have some dinners delivered to your family at home since it sounds as if your mom is spending a lot of time in SF?
Please let me know what I can do to help...I can also take Paulie and Gracie during the days if that would help, too!
Thanks again,Mae~you are incredible. I can't wait to hear how your speech went. I remember taking Speech 1A...a very liberal class to say the least. I think its awesome that you boldly pick your topics the way you do. God is using you!
We are praying for Tate as well as your family,
XOXO Mrs.Hegardt
Hey Tate,
I heard you were back in the hospital and I just had to leave you a message. I wanted to let you know that we're praying for you and we can't stop thinking about you. Once we get the O.K. we will be sure to come and visit you in the hospital. I just wanted to say I love you and I'll be praying for you.
Your cousin,
Josh
P.S. Mae you're doing a great job with the updates on this blog.
Tate -
Our prayers are with you! You are such an encouragement to us all with your faithfulness. I just remember you giving us the "Thumbs up" Sunday at Family Fellowship. We will miss seeing your smiling face around here over the next week or so. We will pray for your rapid recovery. Bartholows - let us know how we can help you out. Max would love to have Paulie over. In the mean time, we lift you up in constant prayer. May Jesus Christ fully sustain you, comfort you, and give you peace!
Love to your whole family -
- Mrs. Cantrell
Thank you all for your comments. I've printed them out and am sending them with my Dad to the hospital this morning so that Tate can read them. (My precious Mother hasn't figured out how to get internet on the laptop down there. Hopefully my Dad will be able to help her out this morning! ;) Then Tate can directly read his comments and post updates straight from the hospital.)
Mrs. Hegardt~I'm sure he would love cards right now since he can't have visitors. I don't think there is a direct address for him right now, but between both my parents right now, there will be a car going down every other day or so. If you'd like to drop them by, or I could get them at awana tonight, feel free. I'll make sure they get to Tate.
Again, thanks for all your prayers. I'll post an update again from the hospital this morning when I hear from them.
